Ok guys, to answer your questions:

Yes, Novocastrian stands for newcastle upon tyne. I'm half french half italian but live in the UK and also a big fan of NUFC, so I have to balance my passion for europe with my passion for the team. So here is the deal: I'll change the empire's name to European Alliance (or something else, we'll need a vote) once more people join.

Forget about the UN: our mission is precisely to create a bipolar system, s the rule of international lore obviously is not being respected.

The Galactic map is only updated once a day I believe. So it's usually a bit out of date.

Can we expect you as a new member Bob? We'd be glad to have you in the Alliance.

I've been doing some testing on a volunteer Senator. The tests were completed succesfully. So now might be as good a time a any to say what I've got in mind.


Official message to all European Alliance members:

Senatorship is a reward, but it is a reward that requires maintenance. Allthough I'm not willing to undo many of Impune's decisions, I'm asking now that all senators who wish to remain senator in the European Alliance let me know. You can [email protected] me with European Senatorship as topic, send me a private message in our forum or just post it here. As today is friday, I would like all senators who wish to remain to let me know by sunday the 12th of october. That gives you more than a week.

Future disclaimer: If you lost senatorship and didn't get a chance to respond, you may always email me or start a new thread in this or our forum requesting more information. I'm openminded so your position can be restored based upon your arguments.

As for becoming a senator, the positions are open to everyone. I think a 10% representation of our Overlords will do finely, so that would currently make 10 Senators and off course me as Emperor. So if you feel you have deserved, or have what it takes to become a senator, rally some support within the Alliance and we'll discuss nominations and awardings. Needless to say you would have to be moderately active on the forums or have done something for the Alliance that deserves such a reward.

Pffff, ok that should about wraps it up. If I missed anything or you have more questions, my email is always open and I do check our and this board quite frequently.

That should be enough official stuff for today so go and play some more Galciv and relax :) This sure is my longest post yet.

G-Force, it will be a difficult task to determine who will gonna be a senator and for how long. How do you decide such a thing? From the start the idea was to have one senator per country. Like impune said: "to express the EU way of thinking". As you know at a certain stage some (at least: one, namely myself) was/were kicked out as senator without any obvious reason and without anybody EVER explaining WHY this occurred. Now, YOU being the EMPEROR (once more: :CONGRAT: you deserve it), you have to look carefully how you want to arrange this. What are the criteria for becoming a senator? For how long? What could be reasons to be dismissed? What could be reasons to be appointed? Good luck with determining how to fill in these points, as well as probably a lot of others. ;)

First thing now is to clean up the senate, it is a place for the more active member. A senator should keep in touch with the Alliance. Hence the prestated official message. As for the other questions that need answering I came up with this for now:

Senator criteria:
- Be an active Euro on either the Galciv forum or our own.
- Have a score greater than 10.000
- Be nominated by another member.
- There shouldn't be more than 10-15% of our grand total of members.

Lenght:
- The basic length will be set at 6 months, this is quit a time in a online community.
- When the time is up and there are no new nominations, you remain a senator (unless wished otherwise) If there are new nominations, it'll be determined who deserves it more.

Reasons of dismissal:
- Your term of service is up and you are replaced
- You have disgraced the European Alliance and are no longer worthy of a seat in the Senate
- You wish to leave the senate

Reasons to be appointed:
- Meeting the senator criteria
- Having done something for the alliance of great importance (like best scorer, website stuff), this will be a honorary position that can be withdrawn at any time.

The point problem I have with your criteria, G-force, is that it doesn't say "Harel will recieve a honorary senatorship for life". Beyond that, dandy. Shouldn't we go and kill those Ausies already? It's not like they are a real country or anyway.

Dude, I've been to Australia. The weather is not "great". It is, however, very similar to that of my homeland (Israel), which means the absloute absence of weather of any kind beyond "dry heat" :-)
