Sub Normal vs Normal Ai

I've noticed a big difference here. Have you guys?
There's a big jump in difficulty between sub-normal
and normal.

They don't start cheating at normal, cheats don't happen until you reach the levels above 'intelligent'.

Yeah, I noticed the difference as well, the AIs colonize and increase their population much more effectively at 'normal' in my experience.

I just beat sub-normal :D . It took me about 2 weeks of playing time :notsure: I guess I should lay out the next month or so for normal then

I played and won my first game at sub-normal. Pleased with myself I bumped all the AIs but to normal and got my ass handed to me. After a week of playing at sub normal and losing at normal I'm finally winning in an all normal game. So yeah, there's quite a difference between sub-normal and normal.

I'm on Intelligent right now. I never played Sub-Normal, but there is QUITE a leap from Bright to Intelligent as opposed to Normal to Bright, from my experience.

After beating normal the first time I decided to hike the AI level all the way up for my next game. Just for kicks. A little into the game I was crying so hard I shorted out my keyboard :notsure:

I dunno. I didn't find Normal to be that much harder than Sub-Normal. It is harder, but not by a lot. IMO.

In my two Sub-Normal games, I seemed to out-colonize the AI by a significant margin. When I started my first Normal game last night, the AI was doing a much, much better job of colonization. I tend to think that the AI might start using leases to get its first few colony ships at Normal. Any thoughts on that?
