Trade good and minor races

I was wondering, if a trade good is first produced by a minor race, and then you go along and y'know, conquer them... do you get that trade good? Or is it 'lost' forever?

Anyone who received it in a trade still has it, but no one else can get it - in particular, if you didn't trade for it before the war, you can't get it (so you don't get it via conquest). And nothing allows you to trade the trade good.

- This also applies to culturally conquering a world.
- I am not sure but belive that even if the original owner takes the planet back, they can't trade the good anymore either.

Alright. In all sensibility though, it doesn't make sense. The reason you can't trade it is because it's a 'monopoly' but now that the race is gone... they no longer should have control of the said monopoly. The good should be free game again.

Maybe minor races shouldn't be able to make trade goods and wonders? Kinda spoils things when all the minor races gobble these things up.

i keep meaning to try this, but has anyone tried "canceling" a trade good in the details screen and then rebuilding it? this would solve the whole "disappearing trade good" issue with minor races.
