being older works for cover bands

Spoke to a management company today. They could get blue number nine paying gigs in nice places. That's what the guy told me. I won't mention the name of the company and I'm not sure we'll end up working with them. Because they really want a cover band. Which frustrates me to no end because the person who highly recommended us to them is a person they trust. The guy told me he trusts that person. And I know if they saw us live, they wouldn't know which were the covers and which weren't.
The guy asked me how old we were and I told him the truth. Usually, I lie about everyone's age in the band except Camari and Amy because they're still in their 20s. But I told this man the truth and he said, "Good." Interesting how a professional cover band SHOULD be in their 30s, but record companies won't pay any attention to a band over 30.
