Trading strategies...per race

Is there any difference between the races as far as what they are likely to agree to when you want to trade tech or systems with them?

Also, is there any indicator on the screen whether or not the race will accept the trade? Its anoying to keep re setting up the trade after they refuse.

Diplomacy can be affected by your relations with the race and your diplomacy level compared to theirs. They'll accept the trade once the text in the middle of the screen changes to green.
