Metaverse player ranks

Is anyone familiar with how the rank promotions on the Metaverse work? They seem to stop coming after you reach Captain, unless Fleet Captain is at a point nobody has reached yet.

They are updated manually. It's very possible that Pat has just not written the code to allow for higher ranks. The early codes were basically in the form of

score > 1500 AND X games won > 2 = rank of xxxxx

score > 2500 AND Y games won > 5 = rank of xxxxx
