Trouble posting to Forum

I'm testing. If successful, I'll relate the story in a reply.

Thanks!

Okay. What worked for me was to logoff, and then sign back in again. When I come to www.galciv.com, the site recognizes me as Fuji Fun 4 Free, but doesn't let me post. But, now that I've logged off, and then logged back in, it is taking my posts (assuming that this one is accepted).

Is this a bug?

Thanks!

I have seen this behavior too. It seems to happen on a periodic basis, about 2 weeks. I have the message board in my bookmark and am accessing it
directly from the bookmark.

Is it a security feature or procedure? Am I required to go through the home page? I use the bookmark to save time.

Cheers,
Jack

Sounds like the cookie is expiring or something, I never had any problems with it though.

Ive had it too, but I think it may be related to using two different computers/browsers. I havent had any problem if I log off/on the first thing I do when checking the forum.

I wonder what would happen if I made my cookie file read only.

As far as I understanding how cookies work... it would still expire. When the cookie is made in php the time it will expire is something like time()+how ever many seconds you want, so I think making in read only would be bad becasue once it does expire you couln't log back in.

I had this problem all weekend. Sent Pat an email and here is his reply.

Paul,

I have been making some changes which may have caused this problem. Please
try logging off. Close your browser (to clear any virtual cookies). Then
reopen your browser and relogon. Hopefully after relogging on you should be
able to post.

This has also happened to me, and it worked fine after I closed my browser and restarted it, like he said. Hopefully this problem will not effect the forums too much. :p
