Production/research/income question

If we take two planets of the same class (say 17) and both have the same population, morale level and (starbase) improvements, do they have the same amount of social and military production and income or are there other factors involved?

Do you know this through personal observation?
How about the following examples:
Same class, same morale, no starbases, one planet has twice the pop of the other.
Same class, no starbases, same pop, one has moral of 50 and one has morale of 100
Thanks for the info. Your posts are among the ones I look forward to the most. You are giving us the info the game designers should be.

Unfortunately, I had no idea how population, morale, production, and taxes tie together. I'm still holding out hope that Brad will just post the formula some day and save us the hard work. I'd much rather enjoy the game then spend hours collecting data points in hope of figuring it out after all LOL If Brad doesn't like revealing the game mechanics however, then maybe I'll load up the spreadsheets after I finish my current game.

Twice pop - formulaes are non-linear, so 20 vs 40 pop and 20000 vs 40000 gives different results.

It seems that planet with morale 1 has 2/3 of the producton/research of the same planet with morale 100. (It's easy to test - just start new game, set spending to 100%, set military production to 100%. Compare production with taxes set at 0% (morale 100) and taxes set to 100% (morale 1, if it's not equal to 1, then just hit 'end turn' (with taxes <100%), and wait then population grows somewhat)).
