Loading citizens in a colony ship

I would like to know what the effect is of loading few or many citizens in a colony ship. Will the new colony have higher morale with more citizens? Will the new colony start with a higher pop?

I haven't been able to figure it out exactly so maybe you guys can help me.

The new colony will start with the exact number of people you put on the ship. However, the more people you put on, the LOWER your starting morale will be on the new colony. This is due to overcrowding. Take smaller amounts of people to smaller worlds (around 50-100 at most), and more poeple to larger worlds (17+).

I believe this depending on your targeting planet's quality, say, if you have 30 thousands ppl on a colony ship with 50 morale colonizing a 15 type planet, you will get very low morale. I figured a way to balance this is aftering landing on the planet, immediately buy two quality improvment structure, then a entertainment centre, usually the morale will be around 60 after doing this.

Udius: Thanks, I haven't had very big morale problems yet (since I'm still in my first game of beginner and haven't had much time to play, which is going to change tonight! ;) ) But I'll keep your advice in mind.

:notsure: What if you don't put any people on a colony ship manually?. It doesn't mention loading people in the manual.

When you launch the ship, you have to select the number of people to place on it. It is an easy-to-use slider as soon as you try to launch the ship. It will default to one-half of the plaent population, but you make it as low as 1 if you want.
