UI Questions

I've just started to play, and have stumbled across a couple of things in the interface that I don't understand.

1. I got a message that my archaeologists discovered some alien ruins or something and that those ruins had converted the planet to one of class 33. The problem is, I can't find the planet. None of my planets show up on the planet list as class 33, and I can't find the named planet anywhere on the map. (As an aside, is there any list of planets that I know about but have not yet colonized?)

2. In a review (maybe the one on Orion Sector), there was mention of the ability to change all of your planets' production in one fell swoop. For instance, you could quickly change all planets producing one type of ship (e.g., colony ships) to produce another type (e.g., constructors). Can this be done? If so, how?

3. Does autopilot use waypoints? I have been having problems figuring out how autopilot works in general and particularly how it is instantiated from the ship list. In fiddling around with it, I have noticed the blue, circular destination (I think that's what they are) markers with numbers inside of them. Are those waypoints? Is this documented somewhere?

4. The blue arrows to the right of the ships in the ship list are supposed to allow me to send a ship to the part of the map at which I am looking. Sometimes, when I click one of them, it places a blue circle/dot on the main map, which I guess I can move by clicking somewhere else. Sometimes, it shifts my view to another part of the map. How is this supposed to work?

Thanks in advance for any help.

1. Not yet, but probably in the next bonus pack.

2. Yes. It's in the "Governors" screen under "Domestic Policy". THere's a "Military" Button available towards the top. Press that, and you'll get two lists...Pick the ships you want to swap production, and press apply! :)

3. No, those are the destinations of ships in your fleet. It lets you know if you have a ship already en-route to a certain sector. Way points have been suggested, though, and will probably make their way into a future build.

4. If you right click to set the currently selected ship's destination (while the ship list is open) it'll automatically switch to the next ship with moves left. Perhaps, if the Ship List is open, and you have a ship selected, it'd be less jarring if it dosent auto-select a new ship. Suggestions?

1. Are you sure it didn't actually say "33% bonus to planet quality"? That would be different.

3. The numbers represents how many ships are headed for that destination.

On my "Domestic Policy/Stats/Economy" report it says "Tribute: 4294966899 bc/turn" which (1) isn't correct and (2) I'm certainly not actually getting :d

In the "INCOME" portion of this, the right coloumn (the one with the numbers in it) is shifted down one notch wrt to the left coloumn (the one with the headers such as "Leases:" in it). This is because the abovementioned Tribute line has wrapped around and pushed down the below second-coloumn stuff one notch but the first-coloumn stuff hasn't noticed.

I have set my taxation level to 0%, and I get 107bc in tax revenue (the number just to the right of the tax slider). Are these spontaneous gifts from my overjoyed subjects?

At one point I went crazy and bought (for cash) Ultra Spices and a number of wonder type social projects on Earth. I can't see them anywhere. Do they just disappear when you buy multiple projects in a row (during the same turn)? They're not buildable anymore but they're not actually sitting anywhere either.

JNOV,
are you sure the message was not that another races archaeologists discovered the device. Would explain why you can't find the planet!

Paul.
