GalCiv & Reality

I am completely impressed how GalCiv manages to capture the very real aspects of "global" development and warfare. As someone involved in the field of global development I must say that the interaction between war, trade, and the development of a single society is captured more perfectly than any one game can do.
For example, if my "super power" human government goes to war with a relatively weak Drengin government, it still has a massive impact on my social development. It probably took me 40 turns to recover economically, socially, and in R&D after making war on 3 Drengin planets (and I had something like 12 or 15 moderately well developed planets of my own). In addition, it negatively impacted my relations with another civ. That's the way it works in the real world boys and girls. Kudos to Stardock.
