I hate the I-league

God I am sick of my planets defecting to those non-aligned do-gooders.

Whew, with that out of my system, I'd like to say what a gem of a game this is. I've been playing it for a while and wanted to get a good feel before I posted anything. I'd sure like to see the following tweaked as part of a future upgrade / patch.

Autopilot for scouts. Survey ships can do it, could we possibly have an auto-explore for scouts? A REALLY, REALLY nice feature would be to allow constructors to auto-goto the nearest starbase with an available module slot.

The ability to turn off planet defections. Sometimes you just want to crush your opponent. I've played a dozen games and all of them have ended with the last opposing planets defecting to my civilization. I'd really like the ability to specify if I want that to happen.

The I-League (or another minor power) seems to really kick the crap out of some other empires. I played a short small galaxy game last evening and the I-league stomped everyone, giving me a default win when the last planet fell to the I-league (I had a fleet of exactly 5 warships). Perhaps there is some way to code a minor power so that if a major power surrenders to it, then it assumes that role (so the game doesn't end in this way)?

I realize there are actual bugs that need addressing, but this was my .02 for now. Great game overall.

Yeah, that happens a lot. I think it was intentional, to shorten the 'mop up' phase of the game. If you really want to drag things out, you can always build a starbase with a party palace in their core sectors and then immediately give it to them. That provides them with enough influence to not have defections there. I did that once in order to see the end of the tech tree.

I agree with your autoexplore request; that would be really, really nice to have. Really nice.

An auto-explore for scouts would be really nice. Especially for those larger maps where I've already explored everything nearby and the only thing remaining is to scout the rest of the galaxy.

The constructor to nearest starbase with available slot would be nice as long as it flagged one of the remaining modules as "to be built" so it didn't send tons of ships for one remaining slot. A way to flag which module remaining to be built per starbase would be nice too. For example, I don't need military stuff on a starbase way back in my territory.

These two features would alleviate a lot of the unnecessary tedium in the game.

hehe i just make x's with my scouts when i'm done with them in my loal area. i start with the top corners, and just go back and forth.. then i go to the middle top, down to middle bottom, left-middle, right-middle, then cross over, etc.

but yeah, autoexplore woiuld make it so i could just ignore them.

I have yet to meet this I-league in my games. I would like to meet them at least once! :(

In my last game I thanked the I league : they were created out of a Drengin system, so I allied with them vs the Drengins. Then they dragged me into a war vs Arceans, it was a good idea cause it alloed me to conquer the Arceans ;).
I finally broke the alliance to avoid being at war with Torians and Altarians, but then they went themselves to a looooong unconclusive war vs the Torians, who ranked #2 (I was 1st at that time). The I league was quite powerful at that time, they had Dreads with 165hp !, so they attrited each others (they both killed one enemy dread each turn on average...) while I quickly took Superpower place :) Altarions were assimilated, and a culture bomb in Torian home sector ended the game with Cultural Victory...
Hail to the I league, my real allies ! LOL
