Thank God for romanji. The basis of this poem is a simple phrase, "Boku wa boku no koto ga shiritai". In English, this translates to something that you might be able to figure out on your own from the poem, but then again, maybe not. The usage of the words "Watashi wa desu" in the middle are also romanji japanese, which will be defined at the end of the poem. The poem is entitled, "The Quest Ultimate"
Boku wa boku no koto ga shiritai
but a wall blocks the way of my,
self-quest, and I don’t know why I scream,
but I have been given clarity, I do know what I mean.
The poet’s words crawl across the paper,
but lead him no closer to the truth,
and death defying stunts and pain make
good the end of youth.
The poet
doesn’t know it,
but he’s losing it,
he can’t help, the string-plucker, weaver of dreams,
didn’t know he was falling till everything seems,
to be slipping,
like greasy words from a politician’s mouth.
Boku wa boku no koto ga shiritai
A quest ultimate for I
am, Watashi wa desu,
A maze twisted with intricacy,
and shadowed light:
Save me,
Boku wa boku no koto ga shiritai.
Figured it out?
Boku wa boku no koto ga shiritai means "I want to know more about myself." Truly a quest ultimate.
Watashi wa desu roughly means "I am."
Peace,
Beebes
