Life as Most of Us Know it

The things I always wanted are the things i've come to fear being young, wanting to grow up, not knowing that the pain gets

worse as life flys by.

Life's not fair, that's what they say. Nothings fair anymore. Waking up everyday, not knowing who you'll pass, and what they'll

say.

Every corner you turn someone's judging you. Every second, heart reacing. Watch your back. Your secrets aren't safe anymore.

Living up to expectations. Meeting their high standards. But can't you see? We don't know what we want or what to expect. I'ts

all just a mind game. Slowly killing us inside.

Strange isn't it. The things we wanted most when we were young, now we fear them.

I think a more appropriate title for this excellent poem would be " A deadly mindgame "

Good job carebear. I like it.

Peace,

Is that how you are feeling about life, Carebear...?

Life is every moment
From the cradle to the grave
Rein in your emotions
Control your pain

No one judges you
as harsh as you do
No secrets do they pry for
Without your consent

Author of your tale
Chooser of destiny
Absorb all knowledge
Guide your own way

Accept others existence
As they accept yours
Look up to the light
Not to the ground

Cheer up, M'dear....life is full of wonder, you just have to look in the right places......

carebear,

Just a little note for you...the pain does get worse, yes, but the joys get greater.

Stick with it, kiddo! You're a great person to have around!

Very nice. Ten years ago I felt pretty similar and was still in high school too. I've started posting some poems from that time period, maybe you could take a look. If nothing else, sometimes it helps to know that you're not the only one who feels the way you do, and it does get better. Not less painful, but more joyful as Gideon said.

Yeah, everyone feels this....unless they've been traumatized or are apathetic....but, a word of advice....don't be too afraid, new experiences wait and also pain and sadness will be there.....but isn't that how life is? Full of trials, problems, and stressful things....but you will survive as long as you have friends and of course a good head on your shoulders.....

Growing up is one of the most difficult things to do, and I don't think we ever fully achieve it. That is half the fun though sweety, we go through these confused times, these times where the world confuses they hell out of us, but we get through them, and become stronger because of them. I can't say everything will be ok, because i don't know what you're going through, but I know it will get easier. You seem like a smart young lady, things will come good, and we are here to listen when things are slightly tough. So just let it flow in your writing *hugz*. Excellent piece of writing btw...

I think I might take a look LadyCleve, thanks!

Yeah Zoo, I'm very glad to be blessed with friends like you and brandon, etc. I don't know where I'd be with out you guys.

Yeah, pretty much everything is cofusing the hell out of me right now. Sometimes I just don't know what to do anymore. But I guess you'll have that at sometimes. I know you guys are here to listen, but I don't want it to sound like I'm trying to complain and nag people on here, but I'm really not. This is just a place where I can let things vent, especially when there's no one online or home to talk to. So thank you so bunches Sally!! Thanks for the comment too! *hugs*
