Where is the patch... simplified!!!

This is way to confusing and I really mean CONFUSING to find a simple patch to this game. I have followed all the messages on this board to download the patch. How difficult would it be to do like 99% of the game companies on the face of the earth and provide a button called "patch" either on the website or in this forum.

Maybe I am just stupid but I dont really think so. Where is the patch???????

To find the patch on Stardock Central, click the software tab, then click the drengin.net tab within that, galciv should be listed in there along with any updates for it. You may need to click tools > refresh application data to see the update.

As for putting it on the website, a standalone patch will be released eventually.

Life4hire, if they behaved like 99% of the game companies you would at the most have 1.01 in your hands and maybe not even that. Also, they do act like 99% of the companies in that if you go click on the downloads at the main site http://www.galciv.com you will find traditional patches under the downloads section, exactly where you would think they would be. It's only the smaller, incremental mini-patches that require the "confusing" Stardock Central program (also available in the downloads section).

Also, I doubt very much you have followed all the instructions on this forum because I know I posted a very detailed message yesterday http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=49541 that explained exactly what you do to configure SDC and find the patch. And I've seen a number of other people post somewhat less detailed, but equally accurate instructions.

If you want the latest stand alone patch, click on the download link on this site and download the patch. How much easier can it get?

It is REAL easy if you read the messages on registering etc to use Stardock. I moaned and groaned myself about it I now feel like a real ass. I was being anxious and I now understand completely why someone said the same thing to me. Frogboy is right it is that simple, or if you want to be up to date now, use SDC. Register, click on software. If you do not see the updates, no sweat click on tools menu, refresh application or click on view and refresh. Either way it will bring up the newest patch. This company provides the best support of anyone I have personally dealth with since 1979 playing with games. I have nothing to gain saying this at all, I just now realize just how good this group of people behind this game are. Praise them do not critize them, companies like this are just to hard to find anymore. Think of it like that. ;) Just a suggestion no offense but this is real simple to do with options to wait or use SDC. :p :)
