Windowed version 1.03.017 with GalCiv 1.03.054 - Not Working?

I updated both the windowed version and GalCiv to the last versions shown on Stardock.

The windowed version does not seem to work. Both Strategy First and Stardock logos appear in a window, but then the main menu is full screen. After starting a new game, the first cinematic is windowed, but not the game afterwards.

This is the first time I am using the windowed version. Do others have the same problem or am I doing something wrong?

What resolution you running your computer at?

GalCiv is 1024x768. So if your desktop is 1024x768 then guess what happens? Go ahead...take a guess? ;)

bahahaha. frogboy, any problems with the metaverse??? my game wont submit and i've never had a problem before.

Whenever I try to run the windowed version, it pops up the window for about half a second, then closes...

I'm running at 1280*1024 on an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro... Any ideas?

Yes. You have 32bit color desktop.

From the description on the left side of SDC on the windowed version:

You can run GalCiv windowed on your desktop. This is an UNSUPPORTED version of GalCiv. Once installed, you will need to go to a command line, go to the GalCiv directory and then run GalCivW.exe. You must run your desktop at 16-bit color or else the program will disappear instantly on being run.
