Adding New Ships

Is it possible to add new ships, or is it hard coded only ?

There are several threads on the subject already. Not to mention there is a program released recently that will help you create ships. Little buggy but better then nothing. There is a tool being released on MOnday I hear from Stardock ppl that will work for us to create ships. Good luck.
