moving ships

I'm having trouble with the interface here and I'm not finding what I need in the documentation (since there seems to be talk of a "new" user guide, perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place).

Anyway, I cannot figure out how to direct a ship where to go without completing the turn (right clicking). Ideally, Id direct all of my ships to different places and then press "turn".

Also, I have lots of problems "de-selecting" a ship. Typically a transport will be selected, but I want to send in the firepower first, but when I click on another ship, it doesn't de-select the transport. Does this make sense?

1) Are you selecting a ship with the left mouse key and then clicking on the map where you want it to go with the right mouse.
1) To deselect a ship I think you would just click anywhere on the map with the left mouse key.

1) I select ships by left clicking them. When I right click the destination, the turn ends and they go. How do direct that ship, and several others to different places in one turn?

2) Sometimes this works to deselect a ship, and sometimes it doesn't. I'm sorry I can't be more specific than that but it seems like every once in a while, maybe depending on what was initially selected, there is no way I can deselect it. I will try to put some playing time in today to see if I can verify this to you.

There is a setting in th options called auto-turn or something like that. Turn that off will do what you want, you'll cycle through all ships not in autopilot and then press turn.

If all the ships move, and "Auto-Turn" is activated, it meens that all the ships out of orbit have used all their remaining moves. I always play with this off (just in case I have ship in orbit I want to send somewhere). Hopefully this helps. :)

If you're clicking on ships in orbit, it doesn't actually select them until they leave orbit.

Open your ship list, then hit F9. F9 will bring up the tactical map. Now you can select the ship whether or not it's in orbit, and right click on the tactical map to send them where you want to go. Make sure that you have Show AutoPilot turned on for the minimap, so that it'll show you where they're going. The ships won't actually move until you close the tactical map.
