keyboard and ship movement

I am putting this here because I too, (and perhaps a lot of other people) may not realize that some (if not all)
laptops and/or notebooks have their numeric keypads well hidden (not that they had much of a choice with the
space restrictions they were faced with).

I have an "i series ThinkPad" and it took me years to discover how to get the numberic keypad to work. Even now
as I look at the keyboard on it I can't remember how I accidentally made it work, but the booklet that came with
mine says "To enable or disable the numeric keypad, press and hold Shift and then press NumLk." It shows a picture
of the numeric keypad overlaying the regular keypad with the "7" at the top left (where the 7 key is), the "/" at
the top right (where the "0" key is), the "0" at the bottom left (where the "m" key is), and the "+" at the bottom
right (where the "?" key is).

After this picture it goes on to say "If the numeric keypad is enabled, press and hold Shift to temporarily use the
cursor-control keys and the screen-control keys.". It then notes that the cursor and screen control keys are NOT
printed on the keys, but I can see the numbers for the numeric keypad in the lower right portion of the regular
keys; m=0, j=1, k=2, l=3, u=4, etc.

Never thought of playing on a notebook. What version of Windows are you using?

As an old Os/2 Gal Civ player notebooks were not "colorfull" enough.

Yeah, that's how I have to do it on my laptop. I use auto pilot a lot on my laptop. If your laptop is your primary computer you could always get a keyboard to hook up to it.
