Downloads vs Patch Level

Downloaded the game from this site. what patch levels are the downloads up to? also am i able to download future patches, I remember attempting to download the newest patch and a message stating "download the patch only if you have the cd"(something like this). Thanks,

Here is the exact message: "You must have installed Galactic Civilizations from CD before applying the BonusPak. If you are using Stardock Central, we suggest you use that to apply the updates. But, you're welcome to save a copy of this file as well. "
