phillip
a nappy headed Puerto Rican
with a tribe of dobbies with silver tipped
fangs
kept weapons of insanity under the couch
short-barrels, m-16’s, .45’s, and bandoleers of
ammo
there was a mortar launcher in the closet
and 2 disposable rpg’s
phillip kept everyone fit for the runs
he prayed everyday and confessed to priests
without hope of absolution
then measured cocaine in oz’ers, halves and
eight-balls
we dialogued business and shared home turf
covered each other’s asses when the shit came
down
shit always comes down
three times deals went bad and there had to
be an accounting
chuckles chewy and t’wayne crashed then
left the planet in suits cut down the back
faces veiled to cover the entry marks
t’wayne was closed casket
I wasn’t there when the fbi kicked in the
doors at 628 Via Carmelitos and
shot the dogs shot phillip shot patsy shot
everything then kicked phillip in the head
for general principle
I was hiding in the desert pretending to be
invisible
20 years later--it must of worked.
