Difficulty Increases Score?

As per title, does difficulty scale up the metaverse score? I am not sure if I should risk investing a lot of time into a gigantic Machoistic game insted of on Normal

It does affect the score somewhat, but I'd recommend playing whatever is fun instead of whatever gives the most points.

If you think you can beat a masochistic ai, I suggest you try.
It gives more points, but less than map size increases do.
I managed to win several times on crippling, never on masochistic (I'm going back to painful now just to wipe 'em out once again before I get blasted again).
