Alpha 5 rocks!

Lots of begging but I finally got put on the list and it was worth it! Sweet game already. In some ways it's already better than most of the other games of its type out there.

First impressions:
The game makes sense. So many strategy games make you feel like you need to be a genius just to figure out how to play them. This one makes it really easy to jump into even without docs. The graphics are a lot nicer than contemporary strategy games like Civ and SE4 too.

Bugs:
Sometimes the game loses my ship that I've selected.

Multiple greeting dialogs show up at once covering up others.

Suggestions:
I traded ships with the Altarians but it is hard to tell whether a ship belongs to me or not because it has the same graphic.

The diplomacy screen needs some sort of auto negotiation like Civ 3 has. It also needs a way to tell whether something i"m going to send is going to be accepted without having to keep sending over and over.

Want to right click on the mini map to send ships to that point.

That's it for now. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next build.

Yea we're working on those. We will probably have an Alpha 5A next week. Tooltips just barely missed this build along with some other stuff.

The threaded calculation stuff will help a lot too.

Thanks!! :D

I'll be happier when the diplomacy screen AI is done. ;)

Its intelligence needs a lot of work and the parsing and personality will take months to perfect.

All the work of an Infocom parser just for one screen. (and heck, how many people remember text adventure games? LOL )

I remember the first one that came with my PC1 called "Adventure in 1981. All text -
but then we didn't have graphics displays.

Cheers,
