Does AI trade techs with Minor Civs?

It seems like in every game I can always rely on the minors to buy up every one of my techs to minor civs. I don't mind this, of course, as it means a positive cash flow, but I just wonder:

Shouldn't the AI sometimes beat me to it?

I don't know. Sometimes, a minor race will be able to get a lot of techs I don't have, probably by research.
I can't see how the ai trades techs between themselves. They obviously do, since cornered ais are usually lagging far behind, but I haven't seen any indication they trade with minor races either.

Hmm, interesting. Yes, I've seen them do some of their own research, but never have I gone to them with a handful of techs that they wounldn't buy otherwise.

Are minor civs there to help the humans on trading techs? Or does the AI not trade with them on purpose for strategic reasons?

Sure they do : look at your galciv.err (IIRC) log file in main GC folder, there are usually some lines indicating that AIs traded tech with minors (or get cash from them by bullying

)
