Music Problem

Instead of music, I hear clicks and other strange sounds. The little sound effect on the first screen plays fine.

If you navigate to the galciv-directory on your harddrive, can you play the mp3's that is in
Drengin.net\galciv\music
Drengin.net\galciv\Event Music

?

Use winamp, media player or your favourite mp3 player..

Yes, I can play them with no problem.

With old sound drivers, I had problems with intro videos in some games (sound skipping) but it was fixed long ago by new drivers.

Umm if ya go Start -> Run
and type "dxdiag"

And when the DirectX Diagnostic tool comes up go to the tabs Sound and Music, and do the tests there, does those work fine too?

Odd. We'll look into this on Monday, but in the meantime, if you could check and see if music comes up for the following screens, it'd help us to weed out the problem more effectivly...

-new technology complete screen "the robot screen"
-the planet screen (where you select what ship / improvement to build)
-explosion sound fx
-the invasion screen

I don't know if I should post this one: I have sound problems too, but I hear them from the OS
as well as from GalCiv. What I get are:

1) A stuttering of the music. both the Galciv startup screen music and the OS startup music.

2). The research completion screen - the robot music does not always start right away, sometimes
for as long as 10 or more seconds.

Playing the sounds directly from the respective directories works very well.

Sound problems can be tricky, which is why I did not post this earlier, and perhaps I shouldn't
even post it now. It may just confuse things.
