Auto-pilot

First of all - my first impression of this game is very positive. Excellent graphics :D

Now to the issue:

In GalCiv2 you could muster a fleet of ships by putting them "on top" of each other, and send them all off on a common course (auto-pilot), but I've not been able to locate that particular function in this game. I assume it's in there somewhere, but where?

Agreed.
Get back OS/2 autopilot >:(

Gherardo, I like the way the autopilot is now and I think there are lots of people who feel the same way about it. Now I guess we could do is have an official poll and see what everybody wants.

And of course Bjorn, thanks!

Bjorn,
The earlier releases of the OS/2 game did not have fleet movement. It came later. I hope
we see being able to eventually organize fleets for group movement but I think it is too
early in the development cycle to do so. It is like gross/find motor coordination
development of musles in infants.

Brad has mentioned in interviews about the possibility of adding a feature that allows
building up fleets as a post release enhancement feature. With all that has to be done to
make the first release work I think the initial release is just to soon.

Cheers,
Jack

The plan is to let people actually drag select ships and do it that way.

Brad,

That sounds better yet.

Thanks,

That sounds like a good idea! I have no idea how much work it might require of programming, though.
Remember to put in the possibility of selecting through using the CTRL-key!

Also, it might be a good idea to allow for selective removal of ships from a fleet. (Shift-key + click?)
