How to tell what version you are playing?

I play on my PC and on my laptop (allows me to sit with the wife while watching late night mindless TV together). PC uses stardock, Laptop uses the stand alone patch files.

For the life of day of me, I can not see a version number at the start screen (with start, load options) or later in the option menu.

Am I missing it, or a earlier note saying that there isn't one?

I believe it's on the top of the options screen, in -game. Hope you find it.

Thanks Gary, found it (easy *blush*) with your directions. Had looked in Options but couldn't see the bits thru the bytes.

What a wonkey place to wack it. I would prefer that detail at the start screen before being in game/starting a new game.
