First game yesterday

Finally I got to play this yesterday.

I had to wait coz :

1. modem at home too slow
2. couldn't successfully download at work (NT you see)
3. customs demanded 8 smegging quid off of me

Now I finally had a chance to see what this has all been about and ...

...

I loved it.

This game is great. It had me hooked instantaneously. One thing I really like :

the game remembers my preferences, so when I start a new game it has all the galaxy and races set up how I want them. It is only a little touch, but one I missed from another recent space strat game.

Can't wait to sod off from work today and play some more.

To the developers :

The Colonel Salutes you.

My only suggestion is this: Get some sleep!!!! LOL

GalCiv demands a lot of sleep time from the player :)

Might be right Tony, but I actually learned to sleep with one brain half at the time, just because of GalCiv! LOL

Oh, for the days of being a bachelor when I could start a game on Friday night and finish that game or the second one shortly before going to bed Sunday night. :)

Seriously, with the speed at which the updates are coming out, I think we would be doing a disservice to the developers if we slept more than they do. :)

Napoleon had only 5 hours a night ... and look what happened to that lazy sleepy head.

You should catch your zzzs during the turn resolution, that's enough if your a real man.

Problem is Brad programmed the darned thing so well that the turns resolve too quickly...unless you are stuck watching 81 precursors move, in which case I click on another part of the map and it resolves right away. But perhaps I will use those moments for sleep instead!

I started on max size immediately, and I guarantee you can catch a good 3 to 4 secs off sleep during turn resolution.
