Invasion Question

This might be a tad naieve, but do I really need to kill every single enemy person on a planet to conquer it? I guess unlike MOO2, you can't have co-existing races on planets? Does that mean I need to literally empty an allied planet to conquer any enemy one? (no soliders vs. civilians, I guess...)

Yep, you do. Didn't your daddy teach you that racial mixing just doesn't work?

I wouldn't mind seeing the percentage of the populace defending the planet reduced at least slightly (c'mon, there've gotta be at least a few doddery old ladies in wheelchairs on the planet... do we really think they are useful defenders? And what about the quadraplegics?), but until such a time as Brad deigns to adjust that, it's a moot point. You have to kill everyone.
