Evil game! Stardock bad!

Galactic civilisations is an abomination!

In the last fortnight I haven't had more than 4 hours sleep a night, my social life is crumbling and a weeks worth of washing up awaits me when I go home*.

By day I am a brain dead, shambling zombie. My ability to perform complex tasks (e.g. walking along the ground) has been seriously compromised.**

Not good when learning to drive. Less good for the two tree-rats*** that I nearly nailed a couple of days ago because my brain was too wrecked to watch the road and change gear at the same time.

This is not healthy.

The last game to get me this badly was XCom: Apocalypse back in '95. Yes, GalCiv addiction is that serious!

Please, please will you find a way to remotely disable my game so that this nightmare will end! ;)

D

* I step over the pile of dishes in the kitchen and head for my computer, who cares about food poisoning anyway?

** But that is OK because I get to eat peoples brains. Zombies have some perks.

*** Oh all right then. They aren't "tree rats", they are "cute likkle squirrels". Happy?

i would like to recruit you to my terran army of the undead. your life will be an unending series of torment, but you get to eat weird the brains of new beings rather than plain ole HU-mans.

dirty dishes must be common a side effect of Galciv addiction. We should start a support group and list all of the side effects. Here are a few of mine.

-Dirty dishes
-Long Grass in yard
-weeds in garden
-unhappy wife/girlfriend ( or both )
-inability to watch tv without similtaneously playing galciv on your laptop
-posting on stardock.com while you should be working
-fat dog ( no excercise )
-fat self
-insomnia
-when you do sleep you dream of "culture bombing"
-loss of appetite because you just don't have time

I'm sure there is more but my zombie brain can't think of anything more right now.

Is the newest 1.03 patch good? I mean I am still back at 2. I do not want to upload new one till I finish off a couple games in mid of, and find a few older ones(saves) I did not submit due to the scoring exploit that was going on in the Metaverse and thought them too low to compete on the Metaverse(see my other posts).

I thought the 1.02 patch too easy to keep everyone happy, and thus have no money problems. 1.03 seemed to fix it, and the game was more fun. However it is subjective, and there was a mini "heated discussion" going on about it on the Usenet strategy group. Backup your files before upgrading just in case! GalCiv lets you move it around as you see fit. Nice feature!

(Tip: if you do move it, and want SDC to know where it is to update it in future, you'll have to change the registry entry for SDC and update the GalCiv install path. Or you could just copy it back to where it was)

Hmmm, GalCiv seemed to have cost me more than just the price of the game. I think on average I go through nearly a pack and a half of cigs. while sitting here playing GalCiv. Thats nearly triple of what I usually do! I don't care if I die early, just as long as where I go has GavlCiv and SDC, I'll be happy :) . Oh and I started to pick back up on drinking as well...(yea, I can see where that's gonna go...).

LOL

I suppose you'd like a timer line in MOO3. Except that by the sound of it, I should maybe make it also reboot your computer...

Ugh, don't remind me of re-boots....im still afraid to play GalCiv because of that re-booting issue.

Speaking of which, I just d/led DirectX 9.0a (I had 9.0)...this weekend I'll be doing some extensive testing, blah blah blah, etc...

Thanks for the reminder CarilElf ;) (I'll post my results, etc... on the post I had made a while ago...sorry if I took this post a little OT from what it was).
