"friday five" ... i woke up in a strange place

http://www.loserturdmafia.com/

It's confession time, people.

This week we're going to dig deep into the dark, dingy litle recesses of your brain, to uncover the scary, sordid, salicious little secrets that you keep tucked away.

Well, something like that, anyway.

If you're as old and boring as I am, I suggest you make something up. (Actually, my answer to all five this week is yes !.)

Have you ever ...

1/ Been arrested ? Yes, many years ago. Already went over that in my blogs...lol

2/ Punched anyone ? No

3/ 'Lost it' in public ? Yes, even came close a few times recently

4/ Woken up in a strange place ? I live near area 51. What do YOU think?!?

5/ Performed on a stage ? Yes, I am a public speaker. In addition, though, I performed onstage with the Christian rock band Apologetix.

/ Been arrested ?

Yes.  I got a DUI many, many years ago.  Spent the night in the county jail, paid a hefty fine, and learned a very, very valuable lesson.

2/ Punched anyone ?

Yes.  A guy who decided it would be fun to corner me and grope me in a nightclub...again, many years ago, before my kids were born.  I stamped on his foot and followed that with a right uppercut.  It felt good, too.....

3/ 'Lost it' in public ?

Nope.  Almost, but I mamaged to retain enough composure to walk away and have my meltdown elsewhere.

4/ Woken up in a strange place ?

Strange as in 'how did I get here and who are you?'?  No, and I don't think I ever will.....

5/ Performed on a stage ?

Yes, many times. I've participated in a few plays, and I did a couple of pole dance routines - one for a dare, and an encore.  I kept most of my clothes on, though.  Made some drinking money in tips too!

1/ Been arrested ?

Nope. I did get one traffic ticket in high school.

2/ Punched anyone ?

Yes. A guy in high school was constantly pestering me (as well as flirting with me) and one day he said something that caused my fist to go upside his head. It was as if I had no control over it. I knocked his glasses right off his face. His name was Teddy Nolte.

3/ 'Lost it' in public ?

Hmmm . . . probably . . . I can't think of a time right off the top of my head, but I'm not the most emotionally stable person in the world, so I'm sure at some point I have.

4/ Woken up in a strange place ?

I drank to the point of alcohol poisoning once in high school and woke up the next day to find myself in the hospital. That felt pretty strange. *puking up charcoal is not cool*

5/ Performed on a stage ?

Again, in high school. I was a *sucky* part of the drama team at one point. I can't act to save my life . . . I can make myself cry, though.

It's ok, I thought it was funny too. A little 5-foot-nothing girl kicking some neanderthal looking rugby player's ass.  I made him bleed, you know.  I was pretty proud of that....

I can make myself cry too.  I don't have do it very often, but it does come in handy sometimes.

1.) Yes, but exhonerated. (someone had a vendetta against me and made a false claim to the police.... it backfired and they were charged with making a false statement)

2.) Yes, My ex- brother in law, who used to beat up my sister (and their kids) . I hurt him so bad, he was hospitalized for two weeks. Hasn't been near my sis ever since.

3.) Yes, A few times, with inconsiderate morons.

4.) Yes, A result of a big night on the tequila. Can't touch the stuff now. Just the thought makes me wanna hurl.

5.) Yes, Karaoke. I won. ( It ain't that I'm good, ... I can sing, but I was the only one with enough grog in me to get on stage in front of a full pub).

1) Nope, never been arrested (big surprise there for those who "know" me

2) Yep, on more than one occassion. It has been a long time, but I had a particularly obnoxious friend who really only seemed to understand that he had crossed lines when I gave him a good thumping or two.

3) I can't remember losing it in public. It only happens very rarely, and my wife may be the only one who sees it.

4) Nope, but the first morning I woke up in Guatemala I sure felt like it.

5) Yep, I have been in a number of stage productions (singing, some dancing, and acting)

1/ Been arrested ?

Never. I'm a good boy...

2/ Punched anyone ?

When I was in first grade, I punched an eighth grader. I got punched back. Guess who got the worst of that one...

3/ 'Lost it' in public ?

Oh, yeah.

4/ Woken up in a strange place ?

Not necessarily strange, but I have woken up in places I was familiar with - I just had no idea how I got there.

5/ Performed on a stage ?

Yes. Quite a few times. Check my A Pirate, Horror post for pics.

Have you ever ...

1/ Been arrested ?

Nope!

2/ Punched anyone ?

Yup. 1-a kid who was teasing my brother. Hey, I gave him fair warning. 2-a kid in 7th grade. He'd been harrassing me and finally I clocked him.

3/ 'Lost it' in public ?

Oh yeah. While dating my hubby-to-be left me at one bar and went off with the guys to another bar. I bummed a ride from a girlfriend and let him have it when I found him.

4/ Woken up in a strange place ?

Nope. (Not that I can remember anyways!)

5/ Performed on a stage ?

Speech, Drama, Choir, & Pop Group in high school. Then a stint in community theatre a couple of years later. Fun stuff.

1/ Been arrested ? No, but I was threatened with arrest by a redneck cop in South Carolina. I was told I'd "better head for the border" if I didn't want to be residing at the county jail. What did he think North Carolina was a different country?

2/ Punched anyone ? Unfortunately, yes. My older brother taught me to fight first talk later. It was a lesson that took a while to overcome. I was smart enough to never get caught, and no one ever believed that the blackeyes were given out by a girl!

3/ 'Lost it' in public ? Once regarding a stupid, stupid boy, who told me he moved to Australia when really he only moved an hour away...I saw him a the bar in the hotel my parents were staying at...he was dumb, I yelled, a lot. When the bouncer politely asked me to leave I *politely* informed him that I had a lot more anger left to dish out and if he wanted to be on the receiving end, I'd be happy to accomodate him, otherwise he needed to get out of my face and let the stupid lying bastard take the heat for his actions. Not one of my "cooler" moments.

4/ Woken up in a strange place ? Wow, I'm starting to be ashamed of myself. Yes, about a month ago I had a very bad experience with whiskey shots and apparently fell asleep on the street outside the bar. I have no recollection of the experience, or of how I got back to my friend's flat...I had never been there before and was a little freaked when I woke up.

5/ Performed on a stage ? Yes, the most memorable one being a long standing family joke. When I was five, I played Mary in the Christmas pagaent. I sat on baby Jesus and his head popped off. It was very traumatic for everyone involved.

1/ Been arrested ?
Nope, I was a preacher's kid, and everyone knows that preachers's daughters never do anything wrong!! Or at least that they are smart enough not to get caught.

2/ Punched anyone ?
That's quite a big part of my history. I had/have/had an anger issue through the years. I used to think it was cool that I had beaten up every guy in my grade at some point in junior high..........few people messed with me..........now I usually just put holes in walls instead of people. Still not good, but it's progress.

3/ 'Lost it' in public ?
Yes!!! Alot of it in high school and some in college was laughing though. I had fits of uncontrollable laughter that were really pretty bad--my record was about 4 hours, and I was at school, literally rolling on the floor in the hallway.

4/ Woken up in a strange place ?
When I would get depressed in college I would just wander off and wake up somewhere in the woods with little if any memory of how I'd gotten there.

5/ Performed on a stage ?
Since I was 2! I'm a natural ham, and still perform whenever I can. (choir, band, orchestra, musical theater, opera--my performance resume is longer and more impressive than my work resume, but earns alot less)

1/ Arrested? No. Got a ticket for which I had to appear in court once. (Cop mistakenly wrote me for driving without a license, when the issue was that I as a MN resident was using a MD license.)
2/ Punched? Yes. Had a bit of a scrape with some moron in camp when I was in 7th grade or so. (Hit him once or twice, sat on him, fight over. He was bigger than I was, too.)
3/ Lost it? No. I have never lost it, even in private.
4/ Woken up in a strange place? No. Closest I came to that was on my one big drinking binge in college. Woke up in a dorm lounge (not my dorm, either), but I remembered going to sleep there.
5/ Performed on stage? Yes. I took a theater/acting class in college and had to do a couple of performances as part of it.

i like the way you think, ladycleve

now I usually just put holes in walls instead of people. Still not good, but it's progress.

ladycleve, i agree that you've made progress (still, it would be better if the world was a nicer place and didn't make such fine people as our good sleves all upset to begin with)

When I would get depressed in college I would just wander off and wake up somewhere in the woods with little if any memory of how I'd gotten there.

i'm glad to know you made it through the woods, in every sense ladycleve

No, but close in North Carolina

come oooooooon ssg geezer, you can't leave me hanging like that !

Yes, a number of times, just guess

ooooohhhh. intruiging ! i love intrigue ! next to debauchery, it's my favourite thing !

Of course

oh, do tell !. (please ?)

Oodles and oodles

oh, that's great, spc nobody special. i'd love to know what type of performing you did, too ... hint, hint ...

do breaking fingers, eye gouging, or breaking the drywall with people's heads count?

yeah, sure. why not ? hehe

See number two.

hehe. i did. i did !

Stranger than Korea?

good point !

Punched? Yes. Had a bit of a scrape with some moron in camp when I was in 7th grade or so. (Hit him once or twice, sat on him, fight over. He was bigger than I was, too.)

alright, citahellion !. i love it !. sit on your opponent !

Lost it? No. I have never lost it, even in private.

wow. that leaves me even further in awe of you, citahellion !

Performed on stage? Yes. I took a theater/acting class in college and had to do a couple of performances as part of it.

please tell me what you performed ?

1/ Been arrested ? No, but the cop told me if I puked in his backseat instead of outside, he'd write me up. I didn't throw up there, thank God.

2/ Punched anyone ? Yes. Mostly just relatives, though.

3/ 'Lost it' in public ? My twin and I regularly scream at each other in public, but also have crazy fits of the giggles. Embarrassing, yes, but so commonplace now.

4/ Woken up in a strange place ? I woke up one morning, in a strange bed with an even stranger person. We were both fully dressed, but he had me in the biggest bearhug. I managed to untangle myself from him and then I snuck the hell out of there right quick. I made it out of the front door and did not recognize any noticable landmarks at all. I must have stood there for about 20 minutes trying to remember the events of the evening. I remembered leaving the bar with my sister, having a big blow-up fight, and then the two of us leaving for a house party. Of course, the second I thought the word 'sister' I ran back into the house. She was just coming down the stairs, I grabbed her arm and said we had to go, and where the hell were we? Turns out, we were 3 towns away and neither of us knew the people inside the house. Neither of us had been driving, and we didn't want to go back, so we just picked a direction and started walking. We found a payphone and began pooling our money together. And we had a similar exerience to Little Whip's: we both had way more money that morning than we did the night before. We took the most expensive cab ride home, and have never heard about those people again. Crazy times. And, of course, stupid times. We went out later that night and spent the rest of our windfall at pitcher night.

5/ Performed on a stage ? A lot. I've written and acted in my own plays, and have done theatre and singing with other groups in town. My best experience was doing an all out choreographed dance routine with 7 other people. It was fun to practice, difficult to learn and apparently, a riot to watch. My next stage project is definitely going to feature a dance sequence again!
Mig, there was hardly anything to my stage performances; we did a bunch of exercises throughout the course and then had to group up at the end for our final project, which was to do a 5-minute-or-so scene of our own choice in front of the rest of the class. My partner had already picked a piece that he wanted to do, so I went along with it. It was pretty obscure, I don't even remember anything about the play our scene was from.

1/ Been arrested ?
Nope, though I did get chased by them once. Hehe....I went through a 'bad boy' phase at school. I was hanging out with this lad who was smoking weed in public (in a carpark I think) next thing the police came, the lad ran off, and I followed suit. He got caught, but I out ran them! He never told them my name either, which is a good job as I didn't do anything wrong! I soon grew out of that stage though...

2/ Punched anyone ?
Fighting isn't my thing, but I did punch a guy that thought it was ok to attempt to grope my ass and tits. I was at a club, and first of all he pinched my ass, I let that go. Then he tried to full on grab my breasts. Having none of that. So I punched him. My dad taught me boxing from a young age, so I know how to punch, I don't think I hurt him, he was more shocked than anything that a tiny little thing could do that to him. These men with wandering hands need to learn!

3/ 'Lost it' in public ?
Yup! Not long ago I went supermarket shopping with my sister. We got to the checkouts, and me and my sister had a disagreement about something really trivial. I just started crying, in front of everyone! I was so embarrassed! It wasn't the argument with my sister, just things in general I guess!

4/ Woken up in a strange place ?
Umm....let me think....nope...not been that lucky yet

5/ Performed on a stage ?

Hehe, my claim to fame, I was in the pirates of penzance at school, and Tom Sawyer. These were the shows where I learnt I had no talent for singing or acting! At least I learned at an early age!

1) been arrested?- No, suprisingly. I'm a good girl really.

2)Punched someone?- yes. About 3 people, and not in jest either. I think I hurt myself more than them though...

3)Lost it in public?-depends how you define lost it...I have cried quite publicly a few times. I cry a lot, I'm such a wimp!

4)Woken up in a strange place?- hehe ah the number of times I've woken up in a) someone else's bed, or worse-b) someone else's floor/closet/bathtub/car/kitchen sink, with no idea how I got there...The weirdest place I ever woke up was beside an indoor swimmingpool in someone's hotel. Took me about 2 hours to walk home, and I was very hung over. bleurgh.

5)Performed on stage?-Yes, played a teeny tiny gig, I sang, I played guitar, I nearly vomited all over myself. It was the highlight of my life!

Good questions as always Vanessa. You're on top form lately hehe

1. Yes, but the midget refused to press charges

2. Yes, i was very angry as a young lad.

3. Yes, but not for a long time

4. Yes CONSTANTLY.

5. Yes, over 100 times. (former wanna-be rock star)

1. Yes, for jumping a fence and swimming in a public pool at 3 am. It was 38 degrees celcius and yes, I was drunk at the time. No harm, no foul, no recording conviction.
2. I'm not proud of this, but I hit a taxi driver once for being a complete bastard. It was New Year's Day and very early in the morning. I was lined up at a taxi rank in the ACT and had been standing there for about an hour when a taxi pulled up. He pointed to three cute young girls and told me he was going to take them instead. I jumped in the cab anyway. He tried to physically push me out so I hit him. While no legal implications occured, I didn't get home until much, much later because no other cab would stop for me.
3. Hmm, see above
4. When I was a lot younger, this happened a couple of times. I still don't know how I got to where I did, but I'm glad it only happened a couple of times as it is most disconcerting.
5. Yes, regularly. I'm a singer/songwriter who has played on stage many, many times.

5) When I directed a faculty show and one of the leads became ill and i had to practice what I preached!
