Is the alliance win fixed in 1.03?

Having just spend ages more than I had to on a game just for I could see the alliance win screen I was rather upset to find that while the alliance movie is played it gives me the culture win text on the overview screen. I won't have 1.03 untill it come sout as a patch on monday but I'm keeping my save from the last turn of this game in the hopes 1.03 fixes this bug. Does it?

I remember seeing the alliance victory text in the earlier versions. It could be a bug with the end-game, where it displays the cultural victory if you had over 90% culture.

Either that, or it was introduced into the latest version.

The same thing just happened to me...destroyed the last non-ally and poof Cultural Victory.

Although the last civ was 2nd ranked as far as culture was concerned...I wonder if taking them out pushed me over the top and I did actually win via culture.

I like to think that I won by both culture and allied victory!

Nope, it's been there all along. It does have to do with the amount of influence you have at endgame.

Just won an Alliance victory last night (5/2/03) with the most recent SDC patch. Last playable turn only my allies the Torians and the warm/friendly Arceans remained. Gave the Arceans enough technology to get those to close and made an alliance. Culture percentage was still 93% and I hit end turn...

Alliance win screen and culture win text.

I loaded up my game to check, I only have 43% cultural victory. It's odd the game knows how you won when deciding which movie to play but doesn't remember that when showing the overview screen.

Perhaps the turn you win on aliance you should sell a good deal of your influence off, maybe it would help.

i've gotten the alliance victory as one of my recent wins last week, a cultural victory a few days before. The 2 videos were differnt too so this problem, if it was a problem, is fixed.

I have the latest patch v 1.03A.057...Not to be redundant, but I can confim what airwreck said:

I get the alliance win screen, but I get culture win text. The metaverse confirmed my win to be alliance. To me the only problem is that the alliance victory is displaying the wrong text at the end of the game. :(

Yeah, it's just the text that's wrong.
Is there a file I can open up and read the text there? I'd quite like to know what it says now.

it wasn't a text file problem, and it was fixed in my build...so unless you're using the windowed version, I don't know what's going on.

Well, got an alliance win last night with 1.03.057, only had about half the culture and, yup, culture win blurb at the end.

I got the same thing yesterday. Alliance victory, on 1.03a.057, and culture text.
Note I did a reinstall from scratch so that's probably not an update problem, or there may be something missing between the files the devs have and what's downloaded?

This is truly odd...we'll look into it further, and hopefully have it fixed for the next patch. :)
