Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

Well That stank. All I got out of that one was 2200. It seems to score you have to run up the pop. But when you do that....the system crashes.

OK I found by just ratcheting just up one race in smarts from where I was, (I chose the Yor because well, they are idiots anyway and never seem to do anything) I could get another difficulty level in. Now trying the "Tough" Difficulty to see how many points It will give me.

Galaxy Gamma Zeta, A remote Galaxy in this Universe to be sure, but it shall belong to G.R.O.S.S. in the end. Here we go. If you need to find me, just follow the trail of dead Aliens.

Glad those anti-matter missiles in the headlights are still working well, with us moving on up another spot, but those MWC guys are close on our tail. And I am late paying taxes (darn late game complications). Looks like those good ol' plains people can be rather persistant, so we might need to pick up some +2 defense specials so we can stand some hits to our backside. Or pray for the extra speed event so that we can gain some ground. GROSS has done the easy part by getting where it is now. But, the point totals facing us now are bigger than before. The higher on the hill you are, the more folks try to knock ya off.

Well if they pass us, that will put them right where our forward Gunners want them. In our crosshairs. We keep shooting em down only to have them get another ship. They're getting aid from the blasted Torians. But the G.R.O.S.S. survey ship of doom will prevail.

We'll worry about them only if they are #1 when we get to #2. Because the bottom line is the inevitablity of their final defeat.

Update on my "Tough" game. This is the easiest game I've played yet. I took nearly 60% of the galaxy in the initial grab. I had speed and range, they had not :). The Drengin declared war on me but they quickly sued for peace when I discovered "Battleship tech a turn later :) It's a win soon as I finish it.

This Galaxy belongs to G.R.O.S.S.

Taxes paid, but not quite the way I wanted. I was one turn from Beyond Human when the last Altarian planet flipped. That was the last major civ planet, so I got a military win. Close to the tech win, but no cigar. Still, I am happy with it.

They removed my 23k game, not sure why, not entirely
surprised, I do have it saved in an earlier state
and could resubmit it at a more socially acceptable
score.

Though I remain commited to believing all scores above
6k mean nothing. If you can get 6k on a masochistic
then you can get any score, and the difference is
meaningless.

Trelane: Probably they aren't interested in discussion.

Staffa: You have a tiny game submitted and they removed your 23k. I'd say that's not entirely right of them since you didn't actually break any rules. I don't know if you can resubmit though. Perhaps they only removed the score and game from the score file and not the game Id code from the lockout file (If that's the check system they are using)???????

My games crash as soon as pop goes above about 4 trill. Impossible for me :( I gotta find a way to play faster and settle for 1500 at a shot I suppose.

Can't wait... 1.04 will be out soon, I know I'm not gonna sleep tonight :p .

On another note, as I was talking to Brad in the IRC GalCiv chat, there's a possibility that old/low scores could be deleted (such as mine) to bring up the player's average score. Brad seemed to liek it.

What do you guys think?

I would like to see them Gradually fade. But since it's the player's choice as to whether to submit em in the first place, I don't see why not.

Staffa: You might want to send Frogboy the 23k win save and get it looked at for reinstatement too.

I was getting slightly worried for a little bit, Staffa. I did not know whether the powers-that-be were going to shoot you or give you a medal. :D

Good job. If there is a hole big enough to drive a truck through then that has to be addressed. But the lack of trust on both sides became quite obvious. You didn't think you were being listened to, and they thought that you must have been laying on a lot of extra cheese because their people didn't think of how to push the scoring envelope that far. A little communication and the hard proof go a long way. Once again, good job, Staffa! :)

I'm baaaack. Wow, the high drama of Galciv! Staffa's score deleted, Freya quits the EA. G.R.O.S.S. moves up, ANZACs moves down. Hardly anyone is posting on the ANZAC thread. Someone hits No 1 for a minute and then gets deleted. What gives?

Anyway, I have to say that for me, one Galciv highlight has been this quote: 'You guys just don't figure it out. When I read people encouraging us to adopt empires that better reflect 'our cultural values' I cannot help but answering that Europe is a cultural value. There is no one European State that does not owe much of its history, for the better or for the worse, to a whole network of European social, cultural and economic ties.'
That makes me chuckle every time I read it. Read ya soon! :)
