G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

G.R.O.S.S. Strategy Committee

Killa tapped the lectern. The crowd of pirates became quiet.

"Today I have been asked to be guest speaker."

There was polite applause.

"Thank you. Now, as you know, I am the Nemesis of Ray. Long have I studied him, and dare I say, had a few runs-in with him".

The gathering chuckled.

Killa slammed the lectern, hard: "And I know with a cold certainty what he is planning!"

The gathering bent forward as one, not a sound was made.

"The Wanderer learns from his mistakes. Oh yes. 'Once bitten twice shy', was a saying made for our Wanderer. He is amassing games as we speak. But not submitting them! When he is within range of the target- then like a snake he will bite! Alll of those games will be submitted in one block. Ray and the Fellowship will not be caught at 999,970 points, mark my words."

The gathering wandered out, thoughtfully.

Killa turned to Wombie, whimpering, and looked forlorn. "Wombie, I've broken me hand."

Koala,

I love your posts. Even though I can't understand some of the deeper ones.

With enemies like you, who needs friends?

My final post on this serious stuff. My apologies to GROSSers for disrupting their usual fun communications. (:(

Some time back, the Fellowship, GROSS and the ANZACs were the only empires that took pride in the fact that we post everything in the forum. We have no secret hideouts. Both GROSS and the Fellowship toyed later with the idea of a separate website but the consensus among everyone is that we will not have our discussions there and those sites will be adverts.

ANZACs under its new leadership is now moving towards private forums and discussions, taking after the footsteps of Euros and MWC. I would hate to see GROSS doing the same. EBZ, don't be concerned about how others think. I'm sure everyone can learn from you.

Staffa was and still is the Galciv player whose skill I respect the most. I couldn't understand why he decided to resubmit his old 1.035 & 1.04 scores, doing something he himself said (in #478 GROSS) he wouldn't do. Personally I felt Staffa the Incredible didn't need to do that. But I like to emphasise here that what he did is perfectly legit under the Metaverse rules. And I suspect he just wanted to role-play the dastardly act of a pirate. Losing to Staffa was no disgrace. Besides, I have a trick up my sleeve too on this issue. :)

Trash talking - For some reason, I'm attracting lots of trash talking from Pontius. It may be fun for him but it certainly ain't for me. So forgive me Pontius if I don't respond to your posts. I have no problems with any other posts from GROSSers.

Again, let me end off with my apologies to you fellows for all this serious talk. I wasn't joking when I said during the period of the White Council disband that I would join GROSS in an instant if I had not started up the Council. You guys rock.

I'm going out now to have fun interacting with other forum folks. See u guys around. :D

The only one I truly trash in your empire deserves it. But that's not trash, it's truth. You know who it is so there's no need to bring it up again.

But Like I said. If you post something I take as spin, I believe in all honesty, I have the right to refute it. You made an incorrect statement. We don't have any other forum than this one. No secret forums. We have a fledgeling web page that at some point we'll make better. But anyone can access anything on it. We also talk alot on Icq and other sources. And factually speaking so do you. So to come hammer us on that is well hypocritical. And you brought it up twice after I already told you what the deal was. Perhaps you missed it. I'll not change or budge an inch on it. If you cannot handle that. Tough. Don't make innacurate or trashy statements and you won't get hammerred. Period.

Furthermore, you trashed Staffa for something that was a. Perfectly legal.
b. Your own members suggested you do.
C. Your own members have in fact done. And they have started in one version, and submitted the next. Same thing. Staffa just did it after the fact.
D. Your own members are discussing and doing in the future right now.
E. I've already told you I don't think it's right. FOR ME. I'm not going to be so presumptuous to tell others whether it's right for them. Yet you seem to be doing just that, Telling our people what's right for us yet turning a blind eye when your boys do it and in fact at this moment enabling it. That's hypocrisy. And that weak well I put in two lame ones at froggy's request. I quite frankly see right through that nonsense.

Should you guys do it, well I'll just work doubly hard and fast and catch back up if I can. But I'm not gonna do it.

It always seems we have the most trouble from your people when we take the lead. Seems like sour grapes to me. Yet here it comes full force when G.R.O.S.S. does something good points wise. It's lame. And I will point it out. That's not smack. That's the truth.

I mean really. If you and your boys are gonna act like 5 year olds, why don't I just quit and let you win. It's quite frankly getting to the point where it's ridiculous.

So be it, Pontius.

This would be my last post in the GROSS thread.

That's your decision Ray. I'm not gonna try and stop you. But if you think about things, clear your head and change your mind, you're welcome back.

Being tactful is difficult in forums at the best of times. All that crap about 'sticks and stones' is a load of bollocks!

The Real G.R.O.S.S.: Episode 68

The Odd Roommates

Gerakken and Mary-Lou hugged as she stepped through the front doorway. It had been five years since Mary-Lou last saw her cousin and they had a lot of catching up to do.

"Mary-Lou, this is my roommate, EBZ." They exchanged handshakes and the usual pleasantries.

"Here, have a seat." Gerakken gestured to the couch. "Would you care for anything to drink?"

Minutes passed as the two cousins exchanged stories in the common room. Laughter, giggles. Laughter, giggles. EBZ was busy in the kitchen making a snack for himself. He was eavesdropping, but only in order to catch a break in the conversation, which he found.

"Geras!" he called out to his roomie. "Did you leave dirty dishes in both sides of the kitchen sinks?"

"What do you see?" came the reply.

EBZ growled quietly. "It's much more efficient if you keep all the dirty dishes on one side!"

"Yes, Mr. Efficient. You've told me already." Gerakken looked over to the coffee table. "Are these your empty bottles on the coffee table, EBZ? They're not on a coaster!"

Another quiet growl. "No, Coaster Nazi! Those bottles belong to our ghost roommate!" Such sarcasm.

Mary-Lou thought of a funny comment and decided to share. "When are you two getting married?" She giggled.

The Gazebo's Shade

The humidity was a bit stifling, but the two fathers didn't mind. Any break from the fams was a welcome one. Wombat took another swig of his light beer and looked over the craftsmanship of the shaded area.

"Nice gazebo, Cypher."

"Thanks."

"Pine?"

"Only the foundation. The rest is mahogany."

"Expensive?"

"Yes."

They both took another gulp from their cans.

"How's your garden, Wombie?"

"Doing fine."

"Tomatoes ripe yet?"

"Not yet. Couple more days."

"And the berries?"

"Not doing so well."

"Too much heat?"

"Perhaps."

They soaked up as much shaded peace as they could. In another ten minutes or so they would have to report back to their domestic masters.

Math Class

"Kit?" The fuzzy one waited patiently. "Do you have the answer?" Seconds passed without a response. Kit was hunched over the kitchen table, his nose a mere inch from the scratchpad.

Killa sighed heavily. "It's ok, Kit. Lemme help."

"No no no! I almost have it!" He waved his tutor off. After a few more scribbles, Kit shouted, "42!"

Killa frowned. "Are you serious?" He shook is disapproving head. "First of all, you're trying to find the value of 'b' in terms of 'y'. Second, you're dealing with square roots and fractions. Your answer should be something like twenty-five point seven times 'y' squared over the square root of four point nine times 'y'."

"Is that the answer?" Kit asked with teardrops glistening in his eyes.

Another heavy sigh. "I'll show you how to get the answer... again. Move over." Killa pushed a chair next to Kit's and climbed up to the table. Even though that night never seemed to end for the poor koala, at least is it was 'quality time'.

roll credits

Tune in for the next episode of The Real G.R.O.S.S. when Staffa has an epiphany - "I really have been sleeping this whole time!"

Too respond after 19 years, yes, yes, I am old.....

Two things I have been told to always remember:
(1) It doesn't matter what you do your domestic credits are always negative
(2) Whenever you do earn some domesitic credits they have a half life of 30 minutes! ;)

More seriously, don't fight the little stuff, even if it s afounatin (for my life read "water feature") :)

Black smoke. Found the procedure for the Drengin problem I described earlier. Try this...

When your game is submitted your serial number will be submitted along with your score. All scores on the Metaverse are directly tied to your player name and your serial number. At some point if you upgrade to Drengin.net you will receive a new serial number. Once you have received this new serial number you should register Drengin.net on your system via Stardock Central. Then you should upgrade your Player Registration on the Metaverse to include your new serial number by converting your old scores to use the new Drengin serial. Because of the different serial numbers you must convert your old scores, submitted under your GalCiv serial number, to the Drengin.net serial number in order for both your old and new scores to show up together. On the Player Registration page there is a separate section for you to convert your serial number. Enter your Drengin.net serial number there and press the convert button. This action will change all your scores to use your new Drengin.net serial number and then change your player registration to use this number as well. From this point on all future scores should be submitted using the Drenign.net serial number and should show up on the Metaverse along with your old scores. If for some reason you have already entered your Drengin.net serial number but did not go through the conversion process don't worry. Just re-register your player with your original GalCiv serial number. Then return to the Player Registration screen and the conversion form will now be available. Just follow the process outlined above

Well since this is the G.R.O.S.S. thread, and it's for G.R.O.S.S. why don't you post it? I'm going to see it tomorrow anyway so may as well get it over with.
