harvesting resources with starbase

if you do not have a planet in the sector where the resource is located do all of your planets still get the bonus from the resource?

As far as the resource the answer is yes. Some of the modules have to do with trade routes, influence, etc. and I believe that location is important in those cases.

If you are mining a resource, then the only modules that you need to worry about providing effect are the ones that don't show up when you build a starbase where there are no resources.

'Course, I like giving them offence, defence and cultural bonusses so I can protect it and take over surrounding sectors. That, and send Rangers to guard them so they won't be blowed up.
