Unfair Scoring Change

I've very dissapointed in one aspect of the latest patch. I had a game in 1.03 that was worth 9000 points, but it wouldn't register as anything but a 0, so I downloaded the patch to fix the problem.
Now the same game is worth 1500 points! I find this terribly unfair. 1.03 removes the 15% planet pick, changes AI to not be as free trading money, and makes it harder to take over planets with culture. All these things make the game more challenging to play, but because of the scoring change, you are actually PUNISHED on the metaverse for playing the harder version.
In order to be competative on the metaverse rankings, I would have to uninstall the game and load up the standalone 1.02 version. Players that are already at the top will be reluctant to play on 1.03A (or at least submit) because their scores will go down.
Up until now I've been happy with the regular updates for this game, but this really bothers me (I'm still happy in general with they way you guys do things). I like the game play changes and balances in 1.03A, but I also want to try to move up in rank on the metaverse. Why should I have to choose between the two?
I really hope this is addressed in some way soon; I had a much higher metaverse score before I reregistered with Drengin even with a 0 on my record (and I didn't even sit around and click "turn" to build up my population).
There's nothing necessarily wrong with the new scoring except for that people have already posted 9000+ scores on normal difficulty. If everyone was using the same scoring system, it wouldn't matter, but there's now a distinct metaverse advantage to playing before 1.03A.
Other than scoring the patch seems great. We all appreciate your hard work.
Thank You,
