Demanding tribute - good & evil

I would like to see how often a civilization demands tribute contribute to its good and evil rating. If you don't ever demand tribute, you should be the best of the good civilizations.

We try to keep things that affect your alignment to obvious things that are more black and white than grey; generally things that involve a choice about hurting or killing.

Well, arguably starting a war because someone won't give you a donation involves killing.

Not necassarily, killing only involves humans. aliens deserve to die. LOL

What if I destroy 6 unarmed and unescorted colony ships, each one filled with an average 1.5 billion innocent civilians? Shouldn't that lower my alignment a bit?

There are a lot of places in the game where something you do probably should be affecting your alignment, but my point was that we were trying to keep the system simple.
