Question about sectors and range

The situation I have is I sent some corvettes and transports in to invade a planet owned by the Yor. Unfortunately, the transports didn't have enough range and are unable to enter the sector of that planet.

Other than tech advances or colonizing a sub-par planet, is there another way I can get the transport into that sector?

Starbases extend you range. (they act as a planet for this purpose)
If necessary build a chain of them.
