Assailants Aoe Missles and Winning a game

Aoe Missles, not doing AoE damage? All players surrender, game not won?

Alright so the first question:

1) Assailiants can be upgraded to have Charged Missles, which are supposed to make them do AoE damage but move slower. How do these work? It starts out on autocast, but when I watch over them during a battle they hardly ever seem to use them on their own, and when they do it only lasts 2 seconds. When I click to have an entire group use them, it seems as if only one is actually shooting them(though I might just not be able to switch between ships quick enough). Then there was a situation where the guy had 83 LRM's all bunched up into a little group, and I figure, "Oh yeah, charged missles are going to mow those guys down!"

I didn't notice any AoE damage at all, even when I clicked to use the missles manually. Is the AoE just really small? Does it not have an animation? When you mouse over it, there is a really small purple ring, is that the range of the charged missles? It is supposed to increase their range, but the purple ring is a lot smaller than they can fire normally.

So how is this working?

2) I was just in a multiplayer game where both of the enemy quit, but our team didn't win(we were team 1, they were team 2). My ally quit and then I blew up the last guys home planet, and still didn't win. The other guy on my team before he quit said(I was the host) that I didn't "set it." What does that mean? Are there options somewhere to set the win conditions?

+1 for confusion over the aoe missiles. I've manually triggered them and had them work in small fights - at least, there are beams coming off the target - but they don't seem to do much of anything in big fights, which is where you'd think they'd excel. Even spamming the ability manually - since it doesn't seem to work on autocast more than once a minutes - it didn't seem to be doing anything at all...

actually they work great for me and i leave them on autocast and ai is smart when to use them.basicly they make assilants best LR frigate in game, trust me.
with desolators lvl 6 ability you can destroy whole fleets under 30 sec

as for visual effect,it is shown by green energy linking nearby enemy ships

dont be confused with purple circle it makes no sence just leave them on autocast

Ohh, so that is what that green link beam is? The other guy and I couldn't figure it out, I just assumed it was some TEC upgrade. Alright then, I'll assume they are helping some how then. My 20 Assailants did take out 83 LRMs, but then I thought it was just the 5 repair bays that made the difference.
