Is there no demo version ?

Hi,

I would like to know if there was any demo/beta version available to test the game before buying ?

I have seen some videos of the game and I feel quite confident that I will like it but I insist on always testing a game before buying.

After all I was also confident about Galactic civilisations 2 and finally, when I was able to try it I did not find it to my taste !

Subsidiary question : If I buy the game on the website and download it, how fast does the download go ? Galactic civilisations 2 demo took over 9hours for only approx 400MB... So I'm a little worried.

As far as I know, the plan is still to get a demo out after 1.03 is released (a week or two).

For download speeds, it pretty much depends on your connection. A lot of folks were hitting their download cap :P

Althaz, the entire installation for me took only about 45 minutes if I remember correctly, and that includes the download.

Ok, thank's for the replies, that means that they must have different servers.

I dont know how much space the full game intallator takes but I really dont want to leave à computer running 24/24 for 3 days to get the game in ;) (And as I live in France ordering it by post would take weeks).

It's really a pity about the demo. I hope they will get it ready soon because I am shure I'm far from being the only one to only buy home tested games.

This game is about 900-ish MB, if I recall correctly. I don't know if the demo will be any smaller...

Would love to see a demo of this game, have watched some movies on IGN and read plenty about this game and it looks very fun but without a way to see it running on my system i can't spend $50.

So get that demo ready!

Or whatever assets I'd need to watch game replay, that would satisfy things as well. (I mean officially released by the company so that people who don't own the game can watch replays with the in game engine)

My connection allows me to download that in 13min... But the server that gives the demo needs upgrading ;)
