Vasari Marauder - Stabalize space ability

This allows ships to jump from a node to the Marauder, but what about in reverse?

I was using my Marauder the other day, and I wanted to make it go from a system with no phase node(wasn't even my system) to my home planet(which had a phase gate). However it didn't seem to be working, instead my marauder went through the pirate base. I know that you can warp ships to the marauder while using this ability, because I've done it before.

Why can't the marauder use its own created phase stabalizer to warp -to- another phase stabalizer? In fact, why doesn't the ability create an actual node? As far as I can tell using it has no animation at all.

I think the logic behind that is that the Ship itself uses it's engines or whatnot you stabilize the newly formed(but temporary) phase lane, I agree that the ship should be able to use it's own ability to bug out, because it's whole design is a raiding ship. Later in the game you can blast past any defenses with the speed skill and slow the production down on several planets(anti matter permitting) but escaping is another story, you can take a bunch of siege ships with you and they can escape, but your poor cap ship cannot

Hmm, so other ships can use the created phase lane to warp away? Maybe they weren't doing that because I had phase jump as a group on, and since the cap ship couldn't do it none of them did it either. The main problem I had was that if I jumped my fleet into the enemies base, and he attacked me, there was no quick way to get back to my base. If my entire fleet except the Marauder itself can make it back, then thats good enough. The only thing I use my marauder for in combat really is to fly it around in circles using the speed buff while the enemy tries to chase me.

I tend to use the Marauder as more of a strategic weapon, the speed buff allows yout to blow past most defenses with a sizable fleet and when it has a few levels on it and some anti matter research it recharges pretty fast, you can get in blast some research stations away and escape

Yep, it's a two-way gate! Basically your phase gate on the move :P You can also bounce fleets between two Marauders this way, but not the Marauders themselves, which is intended :P

An interesting thing to note is that you don't need to keep channeling the ability until the ships get there, only until they enter phase space, and then you can move the Marauder away and the ships will land properly.

Its also rather buggy, sometimes I can't get a fleet to warp using that phase point, even if the marauder isn't selected

the marauder should simply fast-produce a temporary phase gate ;)
like ... swarm of nanites comes out of it, forms a gate, the gate will be active for 5 minutes and then the nanites run out of energy or something like that
of cause the gate would be destroyable

would make the ability much easier to use and less buggy

weird. i have seen the ship jumping itself several times.
