Launcher Bug / Mini-Dump on Start

I installed the game from the Launcher when I put the disk in.  After installation, I did not immediately play, but cancelled out.  Now, when I click on the icon to start the game, it loads up the Launcher, and there is no option to play the game; only 'Install Game'.  This happens from the disk or from the Launcher installed on my machine.

I tried to bypass this by just running Sins of a Solar Empire.exe, but then I get a minidump, and the game doesn't load.

I attempted a Repair from the installation program, and it launched once, but never again afterwards.

System Specs:
Athlon 4000+ @ 2.4Ghz
2Gb Ram
2x WD Raptor 36GB in Raid (10GB free space)
ATI Radeon X1950XTX
Creative SB X-Fi
Windows XP SP2 w/ all updates
Latest Video and Sound Drivers

Anyone else having this problem, and how did you resolve it?

Thanks,
Cheshyr

any solutions to this will be greatly appreciated if it's posted. I've had the same problem.

Here's my system specs:
Athlon X2 5.0
2GB RAM
80GB Seagate RAID
iChill 8600GT Nvidia Video Card
Windows XP SP2 with all the latest updates

had the game running before but then i reformatted my PC because of a hacker problem, installed the game and can't play it. used to play it before on a NTFS, but now it won't work on FAT32.

nevermind, solved the issue. minidump on start is a result of some resources that the program was unable to use. for example, sound cards not working, lack of memory, video incapabilities as such, sometimes even a mouse or a keyboard that is non-working. wise game you have here. can be used to diagnose my computer. hehe! have a nice day!
