The Big Mods... Which to play?

So it seems to me that several mods are stepping to the forefront....  They're heavily updated...  Make significant improvement/changes...  etc, etc...

I'm wondering how to differentiate them...  are they efforts largely reproducting each other?  Do they have distinct character?  Which are the more mature of the bunch? 

It seems some of the mods are incorporating some of the smaller mods...

I would include in this discussion:

Sins Plus - by Uzii
Sins Enhancement Mod - by icedude94
Sins Enhanced - by Kcissem
The Mars Effect - xXAequitisXx
Distant Stars Mod - by skyline-HUN

Thoughts?

To be honest... the mods you listed above are not BIG mods just tweaks, except Sins Plus. That's adding really new things to the game. The others are only changing values in the gameinfo

They all have their own way of changing or adding to the game, and so its really a personal choice. I haven't looked to much into the two Enhances, but The Mars Effect and the Distant Star mods are coming on very nicely.

But the only real way you are going to find the one you want, is regrettably try them all. One man's Trash is another man's Treasure.

Uzii's said right... if you want to decide which is the best for you... than try them.
BTW... almost all of the mods are adopting Sins Plus.

I'd definately reccommend giving Mars Effect a go, it enhances the game nicely (especially in the visual effects area) without making anything unbalanced.

Sins plus is also a real treat, the extra planets really add to the game play value.

I'd recommend others too, but I haven't had a chance to play them yet so can;t speak from experience.

(Also I'm in the process of combining sins plus with mars effect for my own enjoyment, but will glady upload the file if anyone else is interested and nother mod creators mind.)

Distant Star is turning into the single comprehensive general mod. Once Gauntlet finishes his graphics and planetary mod and if it gets fully integrated into it then it will be the definitive general mod for everyone.
