I just thought of something, lets say your capital ships was moments away from being destroyed, why not just scuttle it and get resources and deny your enenmy of experiance?

Because it takes a while to scuttle ships, specifically so you are not rewarded for making bad strategy decisions.

this just made me want to put that self destruct ability from the scout on EVERY ship...might take some time tho..
