Torian Central Mine and Harvesters -- Indestructible

I am sure other people have noticed but the Torian Central Mines and Harvesters continue to be indestructible. Meaning if you are another race and capture a Torian planet you cannot remove or even upgrade those improvements.

I know I asked once a while back, but never saw an answer and searching the forums has not turned up anything useful...

Are these improvements supposed to be like that? If so, what improvements with other races is similar? I can't say I have come across any other items like this so far, so something tells me this is unique to the Torians. Which seems strange...

Does anybody know, or can remember if anything was ever offically said about this?

Edit: I'm an idiot, its the consolute not embassy.

The Krynn Consolute does it as well.

apparently the devs decided to add the "indestructible" string to those improvements for one reason or another. i guess it's the way they want it to be. you can mod that out by deleting the "indestructible" string from the improvement in the planetimprovements.xml!

I don't remember seeing anything official about this. I don't see the logic of these improvements being indestructible. They are neither Trade Goods nor Galactic Achievments, which are typically indestructible. It is arguable whether those should be indestructible as well but I can see why one might want them to be. However, these are nothing more than planetary improvements like factories or farms, both of which can be destroyed in their other iterations in the game. In fact, given the fact that they are unique tech applications for the Torians, they probably should automatically self destruct if one does not have the technology to build them but captures a planet on which they have been constructed. It works that way with other unique planetary improvements. Same goes for the Krynn Consulate.

The reasoning may be that the buildings somehow are connected to the planet itself.

Central Mine for example. If they build a giant mine on a tile that went fairly deep and was fairly destructive to the planet on that tile...you probably couldn't ever replace that area with something else. How many strip mines out there do you see shopping malls on?

As for those Harvesters. When the Torians place them on a farm tile and things go sideways from there....it really makes you rethink taking that planet and keeping it doesn't it?

Scorched Earth (or would this be Toria?) policy.

Well,
As long as it is apparently an intential change and not a bug, that was my biggest concern here.

However, it would be nice to get some type of official word on this.

Just mod it, Jarod.
