SP Locked Teams question

I have a question about the game. Started a new game scenario: Areolian Sector and decided to make it a 5 vs 5 locked teams with the AI playing my 4 teammates and my 5 enemies. The situation is that I am being attacked by 2 enemy AI and a friendly AI shows up and says they are going to help. However, they just fly over next to my Frigate builder and park. They dont attack anything. I click on them and use the attack my target option. Incredibly enough they say that they will not attack that target. What gives? My allied AI is becoming allies with the enemy AI? I havent saved this game at all and started it fresh so its not some odd saved game bug.

That's odd. I don't play locked teams much. However, since they're your ally and ally move/defend/attack orders are set on a planet, I would imagine they refused to "attack" your planet. Did you try asking them to defend?

If you still can't get your team AI to attack the enemy, send a replay and if you can a save of the attack in progress to [email protected] and include a description of what they should be looking for - it could be an AI bug.

I am going to try again and see if it happens. Perhaps I didnt have it Locked. Unlocked allied teams seem a little counter-intuitive though...

Well, starting unlocked but teamed gives you a bit of time until you're in danger of going to war, probably. Being on the same team should start you off with all treaties and 100% happiness :P
