This is a first for me. Have you seen this before?

In my current game i got the notification that the Krynn government has lost the elction to the pacifists. I thought that was odd since i imagine that the AI keeps a close eye on that sort of thing. Could be that i destroyed a morale starbase on the same turn as the election, not sure though.

Now when i check the Krynn's abilities, i thought maybe i would see some minuses in the areas that the pacifists have as pluses. Should i have? does the AI get penalized as the human player does? Or could it be that the penalty wasnt enough to bring those abilities to minuses but just reduced them?

Anyway,  HAHAHAHAHAHA to the Krynn. And they were number one in almost every category.

I've seen a number of election losses. A variety of things can affect election results including, I suspect, a random element. If the computer is cutting it close, it may occasionally loose the "dice roll". While I often cut taxes just before an election and raise them immediately after if needed, I don't know if the computer plays such games with election results. I have won elections at below 50% approval and lost them in the high 50s. Generally over 60% approval guarantees a win. The odds seem effected by which political party you represent and current events(war status, excessively long peace etc).

If my understanding is correct, you wouldnt see minuses in what the Pacifists abilities are, you would see minuses in whatever the old government was. Like if they were originally Techies, you would see a -20% penalty to research. I think. I'm probably wrong.
