I think it's going to be an update to stop the crash that restarts your computer.

i have 2 theories 1 is that stardock is opening up to a new area or buying out a company or 2 which i hope does not happen is that they are closing permantly. P.S i really really really really hope number 2 does not happen.

woot look at this

NPD has released the top 10 best selling PC games for February. Here are the results:
February 2008

1. Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Activision)
2.Sins Of A Solar Empire (Stardock)
3.World Of Warcraft: Battle Chest (Blizzard)
4.The Sims 2 Free Time Expansion Pack (EA)
5.World Of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Expansion Pack (Blizzard)
6.World Of Warcraft (Blizzard)
7.The Orange Box (EA)
8.The Sims 2 Deluxe (EA)
9.The Sims: Castaway Stories (EA)
10.Crysis (EA)

Stardock's Sins of a Solar Empire was #2 overall for the month of February despite retail availability occurring near the middle of the month.

With the upcoming merger of Activision and Blizzard, Sins of a Solar Empire is the only non-EA, non-Activision/Blizzard game in the top 10 at retail.

I doubt that Stardock is arrogant enough to claim that "The PC game industry is about to change" because of a new game they're going to announce. My money's on Impulse or some kind of new anti-DRM initiative they'll be spearheading.

I'm going to be a non-conformist and say that they're announcing a Euro publisher/Euro retail release date.

The crystals in the game are found out to be crystal meth and the Vassari are caught red handed and are now nothing more then a bunch of dope peddlers. :(

In light of which the game must now be renamed to: "Sins of a Solar Drug Lord"

 :SURPRISED:

I find this interesting because ti sounds like they were originally going to self publish the game.

That probably means they're going to self-publish the box :P I don't think it showing up on Impulse for online distribution means Stardock is actually publishing the game.

Good lord. If EA came out with "The Sims: You Are a Loser for Playing so Much Sims" expansion. People would buy it.

As to the surprise... if the Impluse thing is a joke then I am betting its a new game unless the Impluse thing is a game... ;p

I don't know, there's nothing about that article that's making me think that someone else is publishing the retail box. Plus it has the line "When quizzed about what Stardock's "new type of developer/publisher model" means for fans of Gas Powered Games' older titles..."

Which sure makes it sound like Stardock is the exclusive publisher for Demigod.

We need more information.

This is good. I want to say that this is the first time that Stardock's distributing a game developed by a larger developer (or at least one that's not strictly indie or niche), but it's been a while since I've browsed through TotalGaming's library. Which can only mean that there are better things to come. On top of that, this may set a precedent for the industry since most of these games are likely to ship without copy-protection.

And Steam-like features will make setting up and finding multiplayer games that much easier. Here's hoping that they've learned from Steam's mistakes and not take several years to create a non-buggy digital distribution program with extra features. Don't get me wrong, I love Steam for what it is and what's available on it, but this is really good news.
