Artifacts?

After having played at least 5 multi AI games I have found all of 1 artifact during that time. Are they really that rare?

There seems to be a lot of slots for artifacts so what's up with those?

Great game tho...

You have to use the explore planet upgrade to find them, or wait for your enemy to do the same then capture their world and explore it yourself. They're random with something like a 15% chance of appearing. Certain preset maps always have artifacts on the same worlds.

i created a map where i increased the chance to 50% if you want them to be more often but then everyone gets them, i just wanted to see all the different atifacts avalible
