Dream Stops working

After I opened something in fullscreen, for exaple Internet Explorer, my dream stops wroking.

It becomes a static wallpaper, and the only thing I can do is to reload it in the personalization window. Even when I press right click, it shows: Pause DreamScene, but it is already "paused". Some dreams work perfectly, some don't (froggy dream for example doesn't works).

Any suggestions?

Yep.

I have the same problem. It seems if i open a full Windowed app. then close it. The dream is static.
Even when I press right click, it show: Pause DreamScene., but it is already "paused".

If you do it a second time then the dream will start again.

Any help would be appreciated.

All dreams are supposed to suspend when you open a window full screen. This is the way the program is designed since it make no sense for it to run when its not viewable. It should restart when you go back to the desktop though.
Since its not restarting, there is a problem. I'm not sure if it is your configuration or something with the dream.
Due to size constraints and the desire to include the sound, I had to go with a WMV file for this one. I am not sure if this has something to do with it but I will check and see if it does it on my system when I get home.

OK, got home and checked it on my system. It works fine. I left my browser and email open with a transparent border and could tell that the dream stopped. I left it that way for 10 minutes and then minimized the windows. The dream started back up with out a problem.
I wish I knew what the problem was but I'm stumped.

Froggy works fine for me aswell, after playing certain games and leaving them it stays frozen for about 1 second then resumes.
Must be related to system spec i assume.

Well, I don't think so, because 95% of the dreams are working without any problem, only this(froggy dream) and Poubel Vista dream has problems for me.

My problem Happens on all Dreams. Does not matter which one i use. including the dreams i have made.

One more problem is when I go from power to Using Battery on my notebook, I get a message saying that it has stooped the dream to save battery but the Dream does not stop.

After I stopped laughing, I tried Froggy with windows maximized. That little bugger keeps on croaking. He doesn't pause at all on my rig. That's fine with me!Sound can be controlled with the volume mixer/start. I'll try a few more, wanted you to know. :D

I use a notebook.

Also on some dreams if i try to load I will get the blue screen of death. then try again later and all is well except the problems mentioned above.

I am running Vista SP1 with Nvidia graphics card.

I have two monitors and froggy pauses on both screens if I maximize a window on either screen. After minimizing or closing the maximized window, the dream continues.

I've also noted that after i maximize a window, i can right click the desktop on the other screen and click "Play DreamScene" and it will continue playing.. even with the maximized screen... so all seems to work as intended for me..

But that's not the point. The problem is that after I close that fullscreen windows, the dream doesn't resumes.

I agree with you on that.

and92 what graphics card are you using? It seem like we have the same problem so I'm trying to narrow it down. I am going to take it to Stardock support once i narrow it down to the source.

One more question for you. Is yours a Notebook or a PC?

If you have a notebook. Do you have this problem too.

I have a PC, single monitor, 8800GTS 640mb (the first release of the 8800GTS).
I am using the lates drivers, 175.16_geforce_winvista_64bit_english_whql
and you can guess from that, vista x64 SP1 (Ultimate)

I had the same problem. I noticed that dreamscenes that didn't stop working were mpg files and the files that stopped working were wmv. So I converted the wmv files to mpg and now dreamscenes work fine. :D

I'm having a problem with Deskscapes on my Toshiba laptop. When the machine boots up I get the dream file to flash for about 3 seconds and the windows desktop manager stops working. period. I get zip, nada, nothing. How do I (1) stop this from constantly happening; and (2) how do I get the desktop manager to run again? Any advice will be appreciated. :d

Nevermind...got it to work by typing services and starting desktop mgr. Sorry to waste your time. Checked another post to get the instructions how to do it.

I have a dynamic dream running on my notebook. The same thing happens to me (freezes when I max a window).

I have heard that this is a known issue and Stardock is working on a solution for the next Dreamscape update.

Ok heres my problem with the dreams.. It seems that dreams in mpg format work properly but all dreams that have the .dream extension seem to freeze everytime that i resume from standby.  Does anyone know what i can use to convert from dream format to mpg format?

Not all, but 98% of my dreams are created from mpeg files. When choosing a dream, the mpeg will be extracted to a temp directory and then assigned as wallpaper. The extraction directory is C:\Users\All Users\Stardock\DeskScapes\ExtractedData.

If your having issues and it's resolved when assigning the mpeg directly, I would assign the dream and then after it extracts from the dream file, navigate to the extraction directory and assign the mpeg.

Just to add my 2 bits, my desktop does the same it freezes but not the laptop and when running full screen the dream does not stop I can see it through the frame on both machines, the battery pause does not work at all but it used too ? X|

On top of the other problems mentioned above,
(which I also experience on my Laptop)
I notice that when I run PaintShop Pro,
the desktop goes black until I close said PSP.

Then the Dream comes back, but in a frozen state mostly,
and the ONLY way I found to get it running again,
is to click another Dream, and then the Dream I was running,
aka, reload the Dream.

Whereas none of mentioned problems are tragic, they ARE rather annoying.

As for battery pause I have noticed it works with the snow dream only (the one you have to buy)
